Round Hill
Round Hill (also Little Hill) is a small opal field situated on the southwest corner of Canfell’s. With shallow levels averaging 1 to 10 feet in depth, the field produced a reasonable quantity of decent opal in its time.
Bill Scott held the first claim on the field, but the best returns came from Ben Burren and Alec Larsen. According to The Lightning Ridge Book by Stuart Lloyd, by the time the area was worked out, total production had reached approximately £13,000.
