Peter Ferguson

Allen George Edward “Peter” Ferguson was born in 10 April 1874 in Bathurst, New South Wales. His parents were Archie Ferguson and Elizabeth McCullough.

Ferguson is one of the earliest miners at Lightning Ridge, coming to The Ridge with Bob Buckley in 1903 after seeing the parcel of opal Charlie Nettleton had taken to White Cliffs to sell to Ted Murphy and T. C. Wollaston.

Peter Ferguson worked with other miners at the Cleared Line field in 1914, later he mined at the Potch Point field. In the 1930s, Ferguson worked with Charlie Nettleton at The Grawin. He had a claim at Hornet’s Rush in 1934.

Peter Ferguson passed away in 1935 and is buried at Walgett Cemetery.
