Killing Yard
Killing Yard is an opal field located near the top of the hill above Canfell’s, adjoining Angledool field and close to the site of the original slaughteryard, hence the name.
The ground was worked to a depth of around 45 feet, but there was very little reward. Some colour was found in one shaft, but no payable opal was recorded up to 1967.
